In the bustling tech hub of Dubai, the seeds of innovation were sown in 2021 with the founding of Techfriar. Techfriar was the brainchild of Madhavan Ramakrishnan, a passionate entrepreneur, who recognized the immense potential of Dubai’s burgeoning tech scene and sought to create a company that would cater to the unique needs of this rapidly growing market. Armed with the experience of successful exits from tech companies and being an alumnus of YCombinator, Maddy moved to Dubai from Cambridge in 2021 and immediately set upon the goal to create sustainable tech products for the GCC market.
From its inception, Techfriar’s primary goal was to bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and practical applications for businesses across various industries. One such conversation led to Maddy meeting Rashid and Abdussubhan who were also equally passionate about contributing to the technology space in UAE. Those conversations led to the Regency group investing $2M in Techfriar and joining the growth story.
The team felt the need to bring onboard a seasoned finance and operations expert to help them manage their growth. That’s when they pitched the company to Anees, who was an experienced CFO in Emaar. Anees was inspired by the path Techfriar was on and decided to join the team as a founding partner.
Over the years, Techfriar has continued to expand its reach, garnering a reputation for being a trailblazer in the Dubai tech scene. As the company flourished, it remained true to its founding principles of creativity, adaptability, and collaboration, constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the realm of product development. Today, Techfriar stands as a testament to the power of innovation and the unwavering spirit of its founders, who dared to dream big and redefine the landscape of technology in the heart of Dubai.
