The traditional way of showcasing and selling art through studio exhibitions alone is long gone. Artworks are no longer a non-selling commodity for artists and art galleries without monetary benefits.
Times of India launches Art of India, a virtual platform for art galleries to showcase and auction their artworks on a global scale. A business perspective is involved in it that allows art galleries to take their artworks to a global audience. And so came Art of India: Techfriar developed a fully customized eCommerce website on Shopify for art galleries to showcase and auction their collection of artworks. With Shopify, Art of India turns out to be India’s largest display of artworks, with 50+ collectors’ works on presentation.
Our team knew that the Art of India website had to be built on the Shopify platform, which allows customisation according to client demands. We designed the wireframe based on the client’s requirements. One of the main demands from the client was to design an aesthetically pleasing website since the website is meant to curate and display artwork. Hence we made the best use of Shopify’s customization feature to build the website from scratch.
We could successfully implement the business requirements and functionalities of the platform according to the client’s requirements. Though design alterations were frequent, our team could maintain the MVP and launch a robust and attractive site. We continue to provide maintenance and updates regarding new pages on the website.
